that is the whole point! of why I wanted to start this space. I’m commiting to a loose format, but one that will include: poems and images of pieces they are connected to.
this poem I wrote in May. I had just gotten my new studio space and my friend reached out about doing a show. I hunkered down and produced several new banners, including this one. it is a cyanotype printed on the synthetic fabric of an old sheer striped curtain from Target that I’ve carted from apartment to apartment since my junior year of college. originally I was just using the fabric as a test for shape and form of the banners - and found that the fabric didn’t really hold the cyanotype well (not surprising, because: synthetic). but lack of control of the process always compells me, as does using what i have.
(process as a safe way to experience lack of control - pining that for myself)
anyways - here is a poem, and if you’d like to follow along there will be more.
to climb into today
a morning mood.
“something in us
screaming
at the moment
you love me
you know
precious little
bigger things
and I scream at each
wonderfully
I tried
and you’ll
Stand with
wondering,
I mean my eyes were
looking forward to the light
letting it all be about
time instead
marking
How momentarily
your mind...more literally teared up after
today
loving you requires
something else
i am not in
your mouth
I want you
cool
its heaven
to be like a human
I do however believe you
It’s genius too far apart
to know it’s open
a whole connective/most remote sense
imagine being so
(of all time??),
of smell
no particular pleasure?
perverse
or even
necessary, continue
it was
incompleteness,
have in mind
the sole
truth is
As if
It’s “secret”
is
am I filling TO ME
As in: your own
someone
My ROLE
IN LOVE,
….never explains why
we are compelled
I guess what I’m saying is
I would never know
the possibility
you’re right, I wouldn’t
I feel
the energy in
me, you
Felt your faces(!) Hope enough,
I love the many
eyes on the
Other times
something gentle I feel
estranges me
I’m going to be okay
say When
